Route : Delhi-Agra-Gwlior-Orchha-Delhi
A short tour to explore Gwalior and Orchha cities of Madhya Pradesh. An introduction to the central Indian state and its historical and cultural wealth with many other destinations to explore later.
This will suite perfectly for week-ends or short holidays. This tour can be extended further by adding more days or more destinations.
Taj Mahal: 350 years after being constructed, the most famous (and romantic) building in the world, still remains unmatched with its whiteness, symmetry, majestic scale and exquisite detail.
Gwalior is the repository of splendid medieval monuments, attesting to a rich and varied history. The Gwalior fort is built on a gigantic mass of sandstone, which is 12m high and its outer walls run 3.2 km in length. It covers an area of about 3 sq.km. Statues of Jain Tirthankaras are beautifully carved into the rock surfaces of the sides of the steep road leading towards the entrance of the fort.
Orchha: on the bank of the beautiful Betwa River, was once the seat of the former princely state of Central India. Orchha has beautifully constructed palaces, temples and cenotaphs built in the 16th & 17th centuries, reflecting the rich Bundela art & architecture.
